'Wow we got a huge snow storm this past week but it already melted. But we happened to be on exchanges when it came... and their apartment is on a big hill sooo we got stuck at the bottom and slowly made it up after adding a little weight. It was fun until the freezing rain came.. I left my beanie home and the rain froze to my head. It was super fun. Not much really happened... we just went christmas shopping for each other and we also helped clean out a hoarders home... we found some cool little things we got to keep haha. oh... we also got a 22" Hot Dog each. It hurt for a while I will send the pictures next week it was huge! Remember to keep Christ in Christmas this year. Love you all, and sorry this was so short. Merry Christmas Love Elder Richins' Thank you family.Bienvenidos al templo de Hartford, Connecticut!
'I had an amazing week... so during our Christmas party, I guess someone didn't show up so the lady in charge handed me the microphone and said "say something Christmas-y like your testimony or something." So I got super nervous and the other missionaries were filming and laughing hahaha it was super fun but it made me less nervous for the talk I had to give the next day. The talk on Sunday went well, mostly because only about 25 people showed up. But it was the first time I said a talk with only the scriptures in my hand! And the first time my legs didn't shake... I think I am getting used to teaching now. Oh... and surprisingly it was my first time giving a talk on the mission... in Spanish but that wasn't too hard. I made lots of new member friends! One of them is my new personal tailor hahaha she is fixing my pants to look better. she is the best. The youth here are awesome! I am making so many friends haha. Highlight of the week, on Saturday we got to go with the youth to the Hartford Temple!!! We did confirmations for a lot of people!!! In Spanish and in English. It is only one floor but it is BEAUTIFUL! We met the temple president and he is very nice. Cool thing is tomorrow we get to go to the Boston Temple... sooo two times in one week! Such an awesome opportunity! Oh and we did some service for an entire day... woke up, no breakfast straight to a blood drive. The American Red Cross lady was super grateful. Oh and it was at a nuclear power plant... and the guards had machine guns... sooooo yeah that was a little scary. but we made it almost all the way when we got a call to go help a members mom move... so we went straight to go help them. and we got home at 9pm that was definitely a day of blessings how we didn't pass out I am not sure. also the East Coast is the only place you can find $145 Vinyard Vines pants for only $20. #ServingInStyle. So many miracles... including one of the senior couples bought us some groceries as a christmas gift. I love Christmas season! Everyone keep on serving and being amazing and Thinking of Christ! He is the Way! Love you all, Elder Richins' A year from now... 'A year from now I will be emailing for the last time... Wow things are speeding up!! Christmas is coming! so is the snow and the slippery roads... you know, the rolling hills of New England are pretty until they are covered in ice and you have to get to appointments. Luckily I was prepared for this. So this last week we had an English member family invite us over... and because they are racist they said we could bring the piñata... So we did haha the kids loved it! They didn't think we would actually bring one. This area is awesome though. Today we are going to a submarine base and we are going to check out some of that cool stuff! I will take some pictures. Also I got to see Ephraim's Rescue... It made me cry. It is a super good one. I am glad I learned to sew before my mission.... because my pants keep ripping near the pockets hahaha they don't look too bad.. oops. Oh and there is a member in this area that cuts hair... so maybe I won't cut my own this time. The Christmas Devotional was really good even though I didn't get to see it all. we had some technical difficulties haha It was mostly in spanish. Sorry I was running out of things to write about... I love you all and hope you are all doing well!! keep on keeping on and enjoy the christmas season. Go onto LDS.org and be a part of this service month and #LightTheWorld be an example to others and share your amazing talents because I know you have them. and have you seen my dads beard!? It is sick! Love, Elder Richins' Some pictures of our adventure.Submarine Base
