IMPORTANT! Learning to accept change... and lots of it. 'Well well well well well... well well... so.. well... we had transfers and I expected to go to Maine and whatever but we had a special meeting with president the day of transfer calls and it started hectic and crazy no one knew what was going on, we finally got sat down and there was Elders from all over the mission a total of 8 of us all reunited not having seen each other in about 6 months but we didn't have time to talk. President seemed nervous and Sister Blair was crying and I had no idea what was going on! He said that this was nothing normal and that he had some bitter sweet news for us. So it all starts with a new stake! Which is awesome, it is amazing. This is what we want because we need stakes to get a temple. So everything was good news and he told us that no one was going home so we were relieved. It is called the Northshore Stake and... well... this is where the tears came in.. when we all realized that this stake including the Lawrence ward was including wards that were not in our mission... once he said we prayed for stakes but didn't expect an answer like this. It was a very tender moment of love that our mission President was losing some of his missionaries... he took us one by one into a room and we had well... we had our exit interview... we were released from the New Hampshire, Manchester Mission. So... effective November 6th I along with seven others will belong to the Massachusetts, Boston Mission. My face once again popped up onto a screen and a member of the 12 reassigned me to the Boston Mission. Soooooooooooo... My mission Presidents name is President Miller, and it is not an iPad Mission so that's that. There are many more spanish areas so I will be speaking spanish my wholllee mission probably! For now I will be in Lawrence not moving until November 23rd... so due to the difference in transfer days.. i will be coming home early! So I will be coming home on the 6th of December! So that's the crazy news... thank you. Have a Great Day lots of crazy things going on. Oh and the mission includes Massachusetts, Connecticut, and Rhode Island... sooo two temples in my mission. Love, your new Boston Missionary Elder Richins' Hartford Connecticut Temple

Am I a barber or something? 'The answer to that question is I am a something... I may or may not have messed up cutting my hair.. I may have accidentally cut half the back of my head a number 1 But I made it look decent. Don't worry when I come home I will have perfected the missionary cut! We did tons of good service for some members, they are the best. It was super super refreshing to work really hard. I know that doesn't sound right, but no one lets us work hard... they treat us like we are fragile! I just took a hoe and I just turned up the ground for about 3 hours and made the dirt super pretty! So you know.. when I get home we don't even have to use a tiller. I can just do it by hand. I enjoyed it so much and it was so weird. I was so proud of it when I was done! Then we tore up this little stone area and we were replacing the stones but they had to be exactly level so that took a long time... I loved it. We had stake conference and I got to take pictures of the trees!!! It was such a good conference! But I was so hungry!! But it is alright I just went and got tons of good food that I cant take with me when I leave next week haha I think I might leave lawrence and sisters will take over the south of lawrence. Or maybe I will go back to the north who knows. I might get a car hahaha. Well that's really all that happened. Not too exciting.. oh well. Heavenly Father loves you, I love you. Keep your head up high and love yourself!!! Love, your east coast missionary, Elder Richins' It wasn't as impressive in the Lawrence area... pictures don't do justiceCrazy week. 'Wow... we have been finding and finding and finding. But none of the people were there for their appointments! It was rough but now that's over! Haha Lots of crazy things have been happening here... but I can't even talk about any of it... sooo this email is gonna be boring. So one of the really nice Sisters had us come over to fix her dvd player haha she's old... we just walked in and plugged it in! It took all of our energy to not laugh hahaha after we left we both looked at eachother and burst out laughing!! I also got a bag from Guatemala from some ward members from there. They are the best! There really wasn't much that happened... Oh, well, my very first day in the mission my very first door knocked, we taught a women named Joanny... well 8 months later I got the chance to go knock it again! And she was there! We are going to go see her today!! I am excited! I bought a baby pumpkin to decorate my desk... so that's my holiday. I hope you all have an amazing week and remember that God loves you and you are special. You are needed and God has a plan and purpose for you. And your job is to find out what that is! Learn about your savior and the leaders of the church and you will find a super strong love for them and those around you. I have become so appreciative and everything makes me happy now! I love all of you, keep safe, stay smart, and remember you are loved. Love, Elder Richins' My bag... that once I get released turns into a purse.Straight Outta Lawrence 'Dear everyone... I have found the joy that comes through missionary work! After tons of spiritual promptings pushing me to just do a little bit better finally something happened... I don't know what it is but I now know of the joy that can be felt from our loving Heavenly Father through this gospel. All it took was talking to this women named Nicole... Nicole is a women of faith, she's not a member but she is a loving mother and an outstanding child of God. I met her one night while just taking a lap around the city just before dinner. She was standing in front of an apartment building smoking and i have the hardest time talking to people... after a couple of struggles with myself I got the courage to open my mouth. I don't even remember what I said but she said we could share a message. After only a couple minutes of teaching she opened up and I learned how much faith she had. How many struggles she went through to get where she was and how much faith she showed and I really saw just how much our Heavenly Father loves us!!! Right in the middle of teaching so many things fell into place. My heart overflowed with love and joy!!! Tears came to my eyes and I think she was confused. She kept asking if I was cold because my hands were shaking haha but it for sure was a huge moment in my life. I may not know why I am here exactly in Massachusetts but I do know that that 30 year old Nicole or however old she was, she was placed in my path to open my eyes and help me allow God to help me... it may sound crazy but I am overjoyed to be in this amazing world with such a loving Father in Heaven watching over all of us. Thank you my amazing family for the package! I put on the weird mask you sent and ran around for about 3 minutes before I was exhausted haha but im now perfectly ready to become an awesome barber! Haha im way better at cutting my own hair than others hair! We helped some people move this crazy crazy heavy furniture and my arms are still burning!!! Holy moly! But we got pizza and met an awesome guy so it was super worth it! Also, conference... this is way too much for one week, I have been overflowing with the spirit and its the greatest thing! Even while I am memorizing scriptures! Its the weirdest thing and I am not used to it at all!!! I love it! My view on everything has been changing as this whole mission has been striving to become super consecrated to the work! Sorry this email is all over the place, i am super duper distracted... love you all though! Hope you all had an amazing week!! Love, your east coast missionary, Elder Richins' An awesome boat we found in the young women's room. |
